Cygnus Metals Limited has returned thick copper-gold and high-grade gold intersections from its latest exploration drilling across the Copper Rand and Gwillim prospects within the Chibougamau Copper-Gold Project in Quebec, Canada.

Recent step-out drilling targeting shallow, along-strike extensions at Copper Rand intersected 20.3 metres at 4.2 g/t gold equivalent from 399.1 metres in hole CR-26-02 (reported alongside wedge hole CR-26-01W1), including a higher-grade interval of 3.4 metres at 14.2 g/t gold equivalent. An additional hole, CR-26-04, returned 5.1 metres at 5.3 g/t gold equivalent from 328.7 metres.

The Copper Rand program comprised five holes totalling 3,830 metres designed to test prospective structures surrounding the historic mine. Cygnus plans follow-up exploration drilling at the deposit as the structure remains open along strike and down plunge.

At the Gwillim prospect, located 14 kilometres from the central processing facility, all nine holes in a maiden 2,708-metre program successfully intersected gold mineralisation. Highlights included 13.5 metres at 8.0 g/t gold from 19.5 metres in hole GWL-26-05, and 3.1 metres at 20.8 g/t gold from 212.7 metres in hole GWL-26-01, which included a 0.4-metre intercept grading 108.0 g/t gold. Hole GWL-26-03 returned 9.4 grams per tonne gold over 9.4 metres, while GWL-26-02 intersected 8.6 metres at 3.5 g/t gold.

Cygnus has relocated its drill rig from Corner Bay back to Gwillim for a short program before returning to Copper Rand. The Gwillim prospect is held via a 50:50 joint venture with Alamos Gold, which is co-funding the maiden drill program.

Cygnus intends to use the recent and historical drilling data from Gwillim to potentially form the basis of an initial Inferred Mineral Resource estimate for the Chibougamau Project. The company is advancing the wider landholding under a hub-and-spoke operating model centered around its 900ktpa Central Processing Facility.
