Dart Mining NL (ASX:DTM) has identified historical exploration data detailing tungsten mineralisation at the McHargs Tungsten Prospect in Northeast Victoria. The company’s review of records from the 1970s and 1980s highlighted drill intercepts including 3.1m at 0.88% WO3 and 2.9m at 0.97% WO3. Additionally, a non-JORC compliant resource estimate of 353,000 tonnes at 0.6% WO3 was previously declared for the site in 1983.

The reported data, which has not been independently validated by the company, stems from historic drilling and surface trenching efforts. Historical records also point to potential tin and tungsten mineralisation at the nearby Keady’s Tungsten Prospect, where grab samples have returned assays of up to 5.94% WO3 and 10.0% Sn.

"After unearthing significant tungsten drill intersections and grab sample assays, through comprehensive research, field inspection will be an important reconnaissance step in considering any future diamond drilling program at the McHarg's and Keady's Tungsten Prospects. The team are excited by the early interpretation of the geology of the area, and keen to explore this tungsten and tin potential further."

The company is now moving toward field-based verification of these historical findings. Planned work includes site inspections at the McHargs, Hall’s, Langi Dorn, and Koetong prospects. Following these field assessments, the company intends to conduct drill testing across these target areas to further evaluate their tin and tungsten potential.
