Denarius Metals Secures CA$28.8M Strategic Stake in Copper Giant

Denarius Metals Corp. has completed its strategic investment in Copper Giant Resources Corp., acquiring a 15.34% equity interest through a CA$28.8 million private placement.
Under the transaction, Denarius subscribed for 40,000,000 common shares of Copper Giant at CA$0.72 per share. Following the investment, Denarius Chief Executive Officer Federico Restrepo-Solano joined the advisory board of Copper Giant. Copper Giant’s current operational focus centers on the Mocoa copper-molybdenum deposit in southern Colombia, recognized as one of the largest undeveloped resources of its kind in the Americas.
Denarius funded the acquisition by closing a concurrent non-brokered private placement with Urion Investments Holdings Limited, acting on behalf of the Trafigura Group. Urion acquired units of Denarius for gross proceeds of CA$28.81 million, consisting of 67,000,000 common shares and 12,500,000 common share purchase warrants priced at CA$0.43 per unit. Each warrant allows the holder to acquire one additional common share of Denarius at CA$0.60 until August 21, 2029.
The private placement increased Trafigura’s ownership interest in Denarius to approximately 14.79% of the issued and outstanding common shares, with Trafigura holding 74,576,282 shares and 19,175,000 warrants on a partially diluted basis. Denarius previously established a commercial agreement with Trafigura in April 2024 for the sale of 100% of the gold-silver concentrates produced at its Zancudo Project in Colombia, and later upsized a prepayment facility with Trafigura to US$16 million in June 2026.
Denarius continues development work across its portfolio, with construction of its 1,000 tonnes per day processing plant at the Zancudo Project remaining on track for completion, alongside anticipated initial high-grade concentrate production scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.
