Domestic Metals Plans 9,000m Drill Program at Smart Creek
Domestic Metals Corp. will commence a fully permitted and funded 9,000-metre diamond drill program in late August 2026, targeting high-grade porphyry copper mineralization at the Smart Creek Project in Montana.
The campaign, which will consist of six to eight holes, is designed to test high-priority targets identified through an extensive 2025–2026 exploration program. These targets were delineated using a combination of IP geophysical surveys, surface sampling, and 3D computer modeling. Domestic Metals expects to receive the first assay results six to eight weeks after drilling begins.
“This program represents the culmination of nearly two years of systematic exploration at Smart Creek.”
“We've refined our target model significantly since taking on the project, and the drill plan is designed to vector toward the center of porphyry and CRD target mineralization.”
— Gordon Neal, CEO and Director of Domestic Metals
Exploration is focused on two primary target areas. The Smart Creek target zone will be tested with three 600m–800m diamond drill holes, a phase estimated to take 45 days. The 2026 IP survey at this location revealed a chargeability feature extending further west than previously known.
Simultaneously, the Sunrise Mine target will undergo a second phase of exploration, with four 600m–800m drill holes plotted over a 60-day period. This work follows the identification of chargeability features to the north and south of the mine, with the southern anomaly extending toward the Radio Tower target. Domestic Metals considers the area immediately south of the Sunrise Mine a high-priority target for both copper porphyry and skarn-style mineralization.
In addition to the operational update, the company has granted 2,150,000 incentive stock options to directors, officers, and consultants. These options are exercisable at $0.19 per share and remain valid until August 6, 2031.
Following the announcement, the company’s stock is currently trading at $0.22, up 29.41% on 06 August 2026.
The upcoming drill program is the latest step in Domestic Metals’ technical refinement of the property, which is prospective for porphyry copper as well as copper-gold-silver enriched carbonate replacement deposits. All technical information regarding the program has been reviewed and approved by the company's technical advisor, Daniel MacNeil.
