Dreadnought Resources Ltd has submitted mining, general purpose, and miscellaneous lease applications for the Yin rare earths deposit at the 100% owned Gifford Creek Critical Metals Project in Western Australia’s Gascoyne region.

The application is based on a mineral resource of 29.98 million tonnes at 1.04% total rare earth oxides, with approximately 88% classified in the Measured and Indicated categories. This total includes a higher-grade component of 11.63 million tonnes at 1.93% total rare earth oxides. The filing also provides for supporting infrastructure required for an open pit mine and haul operation.

The deposit forms part of the broader Mangaroon project. Previous metallurgical testwork demonstrated that monazite concentrate from Yin achieves high recoveries using a conventional low-temperature acid bake and leach process.

“A key pillar of our Finding More Gold Faster Strategy is continuing to progress and maintain commercial optionality from our Gifford Creek Critical Metals Project,” said Managing Director Dean Tuck. “Since making the Yin discovery, Dreadnought has delivered multiple critical metal discoveries, substantial resources, key metallurgical test work and consolidated the region.”

The company noted that recent interest from international governments in rare earth supply chains prompted the resumption of study and approval work at Yin. Dreadnought plans to upgrade the JORC Exploration Target at Gifford Creek in September 2026.

Elsewhere in the surrounding district, Hastings Technology Metals Ltd reported an updated definitive feasibility study for its Yangibana project sharing the rare earth elements commodity, featuring a pre-tax NPV of $649 million.

“Accordingly, Dreadnought has recommenced study and approval related work on Yin,” Tuck said. “The applications for mining and supporting leases is a key component of approvals and study work and we look forward to progressing the leases to grant.”
