Dynacor Group Inc. and the World Gold Council have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on formalising the artisanal and small-scale gold mining sector and expanding formal global supply chains for responsibly produced metal.

The agreement combines Dynacor’s operating experience in sourcing and processing gold ore from artisanal miners with the council’s standards development and market infrastructure. A core focus of the partnership is supporting the council’s Gold Processing Initiative, a model designed to use origin verification technology, centralized processing plants, and responsible buyers to improve gold recovery rates, increase supply chain visibility, reduce mercury use, and provide miners with access to better market opportunities.

Under the arrangement, the organisations intend to work with governments, international bodies, industry stakeholders, investors, non-governmental organisations, and standard-setting bodies to establish best-practice principles and a globally recognized standard for processing plant operations. The proposed principles will address miner due diligence, traceability requirements, environmental and occupational health and safety performance, anti-money laundering compliance, reporting, assurance, and responsible sourcing.

The partnership also seeks to facilitate the development of new processing plants in Africa, Latin America, and other regions where artisanal mining plays a significant economic role, while mobilising international financing to attract private and institutional capital to formalisation initiatives.

Dynacor operates the Veta Dorada processing plant in Peru and is accelerating near-term growth through the planned launch of new processing facilities in Ecuador and Senegal.
