Eagle Plains Resources Ltd. and Sun Summit Minerals Corp. have mobilized exploration crews to commence the 2026 field season at the Orbit copper-gold project in north-central British Columbia.

The 6,595-hectare property operates as a joint venture between Eagle Plains holding 49% and Sun Summit holding 51%. Under the arrangement, Eagle Plains serves as the designated project operator, with fieldwork managed by TerraLogic Exploration Inc., supported logistically by Sun Summit's JD Camp as required.

The upcoming work program builds on initial greenfields exploration conducted during the 2025 field season, which marked the first recorded exploration on the property. That work identified copper, gold, and silver mineralization at the Calypso Zone across a 300-metre area within silica-sericite altered intrusive rocks. The 2026 program aims to better define and expand the Calypso Zone while investigating remote-sensing anomalies across the broader property. Planned activities include prospecting, geological mapping, geochemical rock sampling, property-wide silt sampling on first- and second-order streams, and soil sampling down-ridge from altered structures.

Eagle Plains and Sun Summit have reached a formal agreement to establish a definitive joint venture by December 31, 2026, to govern continued exploration on the property. Project operator Eagle Plains staked one new mineral claim near the project on August 19, 2026. Eagle Plains currently maintains 18 projects under option or joint venture with nine different partners across its portfolio.
