Eastern Resources Limited (ASX: EFE) has announced encouraging results from its initial rock chip sampling program at the Marengo gold project, located approximately 45 kilometres southeast of the Mt Carlton mine in Queensland. The company collected 60 samples across a 750-hectare target area, with all samples returning anomalous gold values. Notably, 20 samples exceeded 1.0 g/t gold, while 13 samples recorded grades above 5.0 g/t gold, including a peak assay of 12.3 g/t Au.

The fieldwork focused on identifying vein extensions and historic workings, successfully uncovering a previously unmapped vein system dubbed "Reza’s Reef." This system spans a continuous strike length of approximately 1.7 kilometres, with parallel veins identified nearby. The assay data suggests that high-grade gold mineralisation is closely associated with bismuth, while base metals like copper provide a broader guide to enrichment zones.

"We are pleased to report encouraging results from recent sampling activities at Marengo enhancing our exploration outlook for the Project."

"Notably, rock chip sampling of the known gold-silver mineralization returned peak values of 12.3 g/t Au and over 100.0 g/t Ag. Our plans involve further mapping and sampling, refining drill-targets, and follow-up maiden drilling. We look forward to returning to Marengo in coming months to pursue a further exploration program."

These results support the company's objective of evaluating both shallow high-grade quartz veins and larger-scale, bulk-style mineralisation targets. While Eastern Resources maintains a diversified portfolio—including active exploration at its Trigg Hill lithium and tantalum project—the focus at Marengo is shifting toward structural interpretation. The team plans to utilise future field campaigns to refine drill targets, setting the stage for the company's inaugural drilling program at the site in the coming months.
