EDM Resources Inc. (EDM: TSXV) reported a series of operational and financial milestones during the second quarter of 2026 as it works to advance the Scotia Mine toward a production decision. The company has secured operational approval for its environmental assessment regarding the South West expansion project, removing the need for further extensions. Concurrently, the Fisheries Act Authorization (FAA) application has entered the First Nations engagement period, marking a significant step in the regulatory review process.

The company strengthened its financial position during the quarter, generating gross proceeds of $1,550,324 through the exercise of 1,541,324 warrants and 100,000 options. Additionally, EDM has extended its gypsum offtake agreement, which is now slated to begin by December 31, 2027. On the capital markets front, the company expanded its reach by beginning trading on the OTCQB Venture Market on June 1, 2026.

"The second quarter of 2026 was a transformational period for EDM."

"With the Fisheries Act Authorization process progressing well and preparations for the updated Pre-Feasibility Study advancing, we believe EDM is increasingly well positioned to advance the Scotia Mine toward a production decision."
— Mark Haywood, President and CEO

Technical development continues alongside permitting efforts. EDM is currently evaluating ore-sorting technology for its crushing circuit to improve waste rejection and has initiated a first-phase gold exploration program. Engineers are also finalizing the scope for an updated NI 43-101 Pre-Feasibility Study, which will now incorporate an updated Mineral Resource Estimate.

The coming months represent a busy period for the project. The company expects to receive a decision on its FAA application during the summer or fall of 2026. Furthermore, management anticipates completing the pre-feasibility study and receiving initial financing terms from its offtaker during the third quarter of this year.
