Element 25 Limited has commenced early site works at the Butcherbird Expansion Project in Western Australia, marking the physical transition of the flagship asset into its construction phase.

The early works programme focuses on establishing critical infrastructure and preparing construction-ready areas ahead of the main plant construction phase. Activities include site clearing, grubbing, and bulk earthworks for the expanded processing plant, run-of-mine infrastructure, and supporting facilities.

The company is also constructing a new process water pond alongside associated water supply, pumping, and pipeline infrastructure. Existing administration and support facilities will be relocated, with new transportable offices, amenities, power, communications, potable-water, and wastewater services installed.

Element 25 operates the Butcherbird Manganese Project as its 100%-owned flagship asset, having previously established Stage 1 operations. The current expansion targets a production capacity of approximately 1.1 million tonnes per annum of manganese concentrate. Previous project updates focused primarily on procurement and equipment transit, whereas the latest milestone advances the site directly into physical earthworks and infrastructure preparation.

The tender process for the main construction, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation work package is well advanced, with contract awards expected in line with the project plan. Mechanical completion and commissioning for the expansion project are scheduled for the first quarter of calendar 2027.
