Encounter Resources Limited has initiated a formal strategic review of its copper assets in Western Australia and the Northern Territory, shifting its focus toward evaluating alternative corporate structures and new partnerships to accelerate the advancement of the portfolio.

The review marks a change from the company’s previous position of advancing the assets primarily under its own operational footprint, prompted by executive leadership noting that heavy activity at other company projects—including a 70,000-metre drill program and development work at Aileron—has overshadowed the copper holdings.

“This portfolio contains shallow high-grade copper JORC resources, high-grade copper intersections ready for follow up and a pipeline of large-scale copper projects in the most prospective geological provinces in Australia.”

“The strategic review will assess alternative corporate structures and new partnerships that could better realise the value of this portfolio and accelerate its advancement.”

— Will Robinson, Executive Chairman

The review runs alongside ongoing exploration at the Yeneena Copper Project in Western Australia’s Paterson Province. Encounter regained 100% ownership of Yeneena in May 2025 after IGO Limited withdrew from a farm-in and joint venture agreement.

Building on an initial Inferred Mineral Resource Estimate of 2.9 million tonnes at 0.8% copper defined at the Tyrell prospect in September 2025, recent reverse circulation pre-collars at the Griffin target have intersected continuous shallow copper oxide mineralisation. Results include 20 metres at 0.4% copper from 36 metres, which incorporates a higher-grade interval of 2 metres at 1.7% copper from 46 metres. Further drilling at the Armstrong target extended southern mineralization with 6 metres at 0.6% copper from 130 metres.

Encounter has completed three diamond drill holes across Tyrell, Maitland and Griffin, with assay results anticipated in September or October 2026.
