Errington Metals Corp. has appointed volcanology expert Dr. Harold L. Gibson as a technical advisor and commenced its fall drill campaign at the Vermilion property, part of the wholly owned Sudbury Basin Project in Ontario.

Gibson brings more than 40 years of global expertise in volcanogenic massive sulphide systems. He currently serves as exploration vice president for VMS Mining Corp and is an emeritus professor at Laurentian University, where he directed the Mineral Exploration Research Centre and led the Metal Earth research initiative. Before entering academia, Gibson spent 12 years in mineral exploration, including directing Sudbury Basin exploration for Falconbridge Ltd. targeting mineralised systems analogous to Errington and Vermilion.

The company has mobilized an initial drill rig to Vermilion to test strike and down-dip extensions of the mineralized zone, validate historic drilling to refine future resource estimations, and evaluate nearby geological and geophysical targets. A second rig will arrive shortly to accelerate the program, which is scheduled to run through the autumn.

Errington is advancing the Sudbury Basin Project toward an initial mineral resource estimate as part of a planned 45,000-metre drill program. Operations are backed by a C$34.5 million brokered private placement closed in August. A third rig is expected in October to collect representative mineralized material for a mini-pilot metallurgical test scheduled for 2027.
