High-Grade Gold Hits at Evergold’s Mt Monger Project
Evergold Minerals Limited (ASX: EG1) has concluded its maiden reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Mt Monger project in Western Australia, returning high-grade gold results from the Duchess of York prospect. The final assay data confirmed a combination of broad mineralised zones and high-grade shoots, with the standout intercept reaching 25m at 3.47 g/t Au, including a peak of 1m at 52.74 g/t Au. This result represents the highest-grade interval recorded at the prospect to date.
Geological logging identified sulphide-bearing quartz veins containing pyrite, arsenopyrite, galena, and sphalerite. The company believes the mineralization follows a bulk-tonnage style, characterized by vein networks concentrated near fold hinges. While some shallow high-grade intercepts are potentially influenced by near-surface supergene enrichment, initial drilling has successfully confirmed that the gold system remains open at depth and along strike. Additionally, the company reported the first gold intersections at the nearby Gladiator prospect, providing further evidence for the local geological interpretation.
The transition from maiden discovery to systematic exploration is already underway. The company is now pivoting toward a regional strategy to identify similar structural settings across the broader project area.
"With our maiden RC program now complete, the focus shifts immediately to expanding on these results."
"The zones we've intersected sit within a broader mineralised system that remains open in multiple directions, and we'll be testing whether the same setting can deliver the next Duchess elsewhere across Mt Monger."
— Glenn Grayson, Director
Operational activity is set to intensify over the coming months. A regional aircore drilling program covering more than 10,000 meters is scheduled to begin next week, targeting geochemical and geophysical anomalies identified during the initial phase. This wide-ranging program is designed to define new targets for follow-up RC drilling, which will commence as soon as possible to test the most promising structural hits.
Beyond the aircore and RC work, Evergold is also preparing for deeper exploration. The company has confirmed plans for further technical validation at the Gladiator prospect, where it intends to deploy diamond drilling co-funded through an Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS) grant. These combined efforts aim to define the geometry and continuity of the gold mineralization across the project, providing the necessary data to eventually support a maiden Mineral Resource estimate. The upcoming weeks of aircore drilling will be critical in determining the extent of the mineralized footprint across the company's regional tenure.
