Evolution Energy Minerals has secured the formal removal of a default notice over Mining Licence ML 716/2023, removing a key regulatory hurdle for its flagship Chilalo graphite project in south-east Tanzania.

The Tanzania Mining Commission lifted the notice effective 21 August 2026, following constructive engagement and the submission of the company's development plan. A default notice had previously been issued over the licence on 15 April 2025.

The project is 84% held by Evolution through its operating subsidiary Kudu Graphite Limited, located in the Lindi Region. Prior to the licence restoration, the company advanced early site works at Chilalo, including access road construction and plant site pre-clearing, following the payment of Resettlement Action Plan compensation to facilitate the necessary land transfers.

With the licence reinstated, Evolution continues to advance the Phase 1 modular development of the project, maintaining a target for first production by October 2027—a timeline formally acknowledged by the Mining Commission as part of the resolution.

Development activities and regulatory monitoring will continue in the ordinary course as the company works toward its production target.
