Finlay Minerals Begins 2026 Exploration at Toodoggone Properties
Finlay Minerals Ltd. (FYL) has officially launched its 2026 exploration programs across its PIL and ATTY properties, located within the Toodoggone mining district of British Columbia. This year's field campaign follows a successful 2025 season and sees a material increase in project funding, with the total budget rising to $4.3 million compared to $3.6 million in the previous year.
The exploration work remains tied to the company's strategic partnership model, which utilizes long-term earn-in agreements to fund project advancement. All current activities are fully financed by Freeport-McMoRan Mineral Properties Canada Inc. under six-year earn-in structures, which are now entering their second year.
"Both programs are 100% funded by Freeport-McMoRan Mineral Properties Canada Inc. ("Freeport") pursuant to Earn-In Agreements on each property which are in Year 2 of their 6-year terms."
— Robert F. Brown, Executive Chairman of the Board
At the PIL property, the upcoming phase centers on testing specific geological targets identified during 2025 mapping and geophysical studies. The program includes Induced Polarization (IP) surveys and a drilling campaign, which is scheduled to commence on or around July 22nd. These drills will target zones characterized by significant surface geochemical signatures and IP anomalies, aiming to validate the potential for a larger discovery. Additional geological mapping is planned across regional targets to prioritize future survey areas.
Concurrent operations at the ATTY property will focus on systematic target refinement. The 2026 work plan utilizes IP surveying, geological mapping, and surface sampling to isolate high-potential zones, specifically the Wrich and Valley targets. This effort is designed to delineate robust drill targets for the 2027 season.
By maintaining this multi-year commitment, the company aims to systematically advance its Toodoggone assets through detailed exploration. The partnership with Freeport continues to provide the necessary capital to drive these programs forward, allowing the company to focus on technical development and the assessment of its porphyry and epithermal prospects without the requirement for immediate direct financing from the market.
