Fireweed Hits 30m at 8.09% ZnEq in Step-Out Drilling at Tom South
Fireweed Metals Corp. intersected 30 metres true width of 8.09% zinc equivalent in hole TS26-001 at the Tom South target within its 100%-owned Macpass Project in Yukon, Canada.
Drilled as a 45-metre lateral step-out west of previous work, hole TS26-001 encountered the mineralization from 957.88 metres downhole. The interval includes a 20.8-metre true width section grading 10.44% zinc equivalent. Both reported intersections lie outside the spatial extents of the current Macpass Mineral Resource.
In a major down-dip step-out, hole TS25-003 extended the known mineralized zone by 300 metres. The hole intersected 16 metres true width of 4.17% zinc equivalent from 1,164 metres downhole, including 1.1 metres true width of 8.04% zinc equivalent and 1.6 metres true width of 16.04% zinc equivalent. A second interval returned 3.7 metres true width of 3.82% zinc equivalent. Hole TS25-003 was temporarily paused at the end of the 2025 drill season due to seasonal constraints.
Technical interpretation indicates that the repeating intervals of grey facies mineralization within a broader envelope of black facies material in TS25-003 represent sulphides at the periphery of the system. The western step-out in TS26-001 suggests that vectors toward potentially higher-grade material extend eastward.
Fireweed currently has four active drill rigs on site for its 2026 Macpass District exploration program, with 5,813 metres drilled to date. This total includes 3,299 metres at Tom South, 1,251 metres at Tom East, and 1,263 metres at Mactung in support of an ongoing feasibility study. The company is drill testing a potential feeder zone to the east and expects to report further assay results as they are received.
“Tom South continues to deliver. We have successfully hit on major step-out holes at Tom South which have meaningfully expanded the down-dip and lateral extent of the mineralized zone and point towards an untested search space for additional high-grade massive sulphide mineralization.
