FirstAu Secures Ore Purchase Agreement With Forrestania Resources

First Au Limited has entered into a 24-month Ore Purchase Agreement with Forrestania Resources Limited, establishing a formal processing pathway for the Gimlet gold project in Western Australia and avoiding the capital expenditure required to build a standalone facility.
Under the agreement, suitable ore from Gimlet may be purchased by Forrestania for processing at the Lake Johnston operations or the Edna May operations, subject to the completion of Forrestania’s acquisition of Edna May. The arrangement provides a commercial framework for batches ranging from 50,000 to 150,000 tonnes, up to a maximum of 2,000,000 tonnes over the term. FirstAu paid a $50,000 plant access fee upon executing the contract.
“For junior gold companies, access to processing infrastructure can be one of the most significant barriers between defining mineralisation and ultimately generating value from it. This agreement provides FirstAu with a potential pathway to monetise suitable ore without the substantial capital cost and development timeframe associated with constructing our own processing facility.”
— Daniel Raihani, Executive Chairman
The agreement builds upon scoping-level technical studies undertaken in April 2026, which assessed third-party processing alternatives in the Kalgoorlie region. Those studies coincided with an updated JORC Mineral Resource estimate for the Gimlet Project of 1.58 million tonnes grading 2.22 grams per tonne gold, containing 112,900 ounces of gold.
The arrangement remains conditional upon several milestones that must be satisfied or waived by 7 September 2028. These include Forrestania confirming that commercial processing operations are ready to commence, FirstAu making a positive board decision to mine at Gimlet, and FirstAu securing all necessary permits and approvals for commercial mining operations.
