Focus Graphite and C4V Partner to Evaluate Mine-to-Anode Platform Using Lac Knife Graphite

Focus Graphite Inc. has entered into a non-binding memorandum of understanding with U.S.-based battery technology company Charge CCCV LLC to evaluate an integrated mine-to-anode processing platform. The program will test high-purity graphite concentrate from the company’s 100%-owned Lac Knife graphite project in Quebec using C4V’s automated Green Anode Technology.

The technology converts natural graphite concentrate directly into finished coated spherical purified graphite while reducing water, energy, and chemical consumption compared to conventional multi-stage routes. C4V’s system requires a high-purity natural graphite concentrate of approximately 98% carbon. Focus recently demonstrated that Lac Knife meets this specification through conventional flotation alone, producing concentrate grading up to 98.7% carbon without chemical or thermal treatment in an 8-tonne pilot-scale program.

In October 2025, Focus announced that Lac Knife graphite anode material successfully passed Phase I battery validation testing conducted by C4V and American Energy Technologies Company, confirming near-theoretical electrochemical capacity of approximately 371 mAh/g.

Under the agreement, the evaluation program will assess processing performance, product consistency, and electrochemical characteristics. Successful technical validation would establish a foundation for definitive commercial agreements covering technology licensing, downstream manufacturing, customer qualification, strategic partnerships, and potential long-term offtake arrangements.

Lac Knife is one of North America's highest-grade feasibility-stage graphite deposits. The program will also examine whether graphite fines and other material streams generated during anode production can be repurposed as conductive additives for lithium iron phosphate batteries, supporting the company's broader zero-waste development strategy.
