Forrestania Awards A$27 Million Tycho Open Pit Mining Contract to MEGA Resources

Forrestania Resources has awarded the Stage 1 open pit mining contract for the Tycho Gold Project to MEGA Resources, locking in a key operational partner as the company advances toward first gold production.
The agreed contract has an estimated value of approximately A$27 million and spans an approximate seven-month duration. The scope of work encompasses drill and blast operations, excavation, loading, and haulage of ore and waste, alongside ore delivery to the run-of-mine stockpile, haul road construction and maintenance, and pit services.
The agreement incorporates a staged payment profile, featuring deferred payment arrangements during the early months of the mining campaign before transitioning to standard industry payment terms. MEGA was selected following a competitive tender process.
“Following a competitive tender process, MEGA demonstrated the experience, capability and operational approach required to successfully execute the Tycho mining campaign.”
— David Geraghty, Executive Chairman
The contract award marks a practical step forward for Forrestania as it transitions from project development into mining operations. The company commenced haulage operations from the British Hill gold deposit to the Lake Johnston processing facility in April 2026, with commissioning of a new carbon-in-leach circuit at Lake Johnston scheduled to begin in November 2026.
Forrestania's broader corporate strategy centres on developing two complementary processing hubs at Edna May and Lake Johnston to establish a scalable production platform across Western Australia's Southern Cross, Eastern Goldfields and Forrestania regions.
