Fort St. James Launches Exploration Program at Porcupine Property
Fort St. James Nickel Corp. has commenced a program of prospecting and rock geochemical sampling at its Porcupine Property in central New Brunswick, targeting recently lumbered zones and areas featuring historical soil and geophysical anomalies.
The ongoing work covers northern and central regions of the property, focusing on areas northwest and southwest of diamond drill holes completed by the company in 2018. Those historical holes intersected near-surface base metal and silver mineralization, including drill hole PO-18-4, which returned 5.87% zinc, 1.39% lead, 0.64% copper, and 13.8 g/t silver over a 0.40-metre core length from 8.88 metres.
The current sampling program also targets zones covering historical soil and induced polarization anomalies identified by previous operators, including zinc values up to 593 ppm and copper values up to 191 ppm. Fort St. James has not independently verified these historical soil and geophysical anomalies.
In addition to the Porcupine field work, the company holds the Nepisiguit Property in northern New Brunswick, where a 1,000-metre diamond drilling program was planned for 2026.
Fort St. James will submit all rock samples collected from the current Porcupine exploration program to a certified independent laboratory for multi-element analysis, covering zinc, lead, copper, silver, gold, and rare earth elements.
