Fortitude Gold Reports New Drill Intercepts at Isabella Pearl
Fortitude Gold Corp. (OTCQB:FTCO) has released a series of wide and high-grade gold drill intercepts from the Scarlet North target, situated at its Isabella Pearl property in Mineral County, Nevada. The latest assay results demonstrate the expansion of gold mineralization at the site, which sits just 700 meters from the company’s existing heap leach and process facility. This proximity offers a distinct logistical advantage, as any future material extracted from the area would require only a short haul to current infrastructure. Initial testing indicates that the oxide gold ores found at Scarlet North are amenable to standard processing methods already employed at the site.
The drilling campaign returned several notable intervals, including 3.05 meters grading 2.35 grams per tonne (g/t) gold within a broader zone of 7.62 meters grading 1.32 g/t gold. Another hole intercepted 18.29 meters at 0.89 g/t gold, which included a higher-grade section of 3.05 meters at 2.37 g/t gold. These step-out results indicate that the mineralization continues to the north, suggesting the potential scale of the hydrothermal system is larger than earlier geological models had suggested.
"The results from holes IPRC-774 and IPRC-764 are especially significant for this program, as these results extend the mineralization to the north into another high-grade area"
— Allan Turner, Vice President of Exploration for Fortitude Gold
Beyond the current exploration success, the company is actively moving toward potential production at Scarlet North. The project team is currently completing baseline studies required for permitting an open-pit mining operation, working alongside the Bureau of Land Management and the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection to move the development process forward. This effort is part of a broader push to define the surface and near-surface mineralization discovered in the ongoing campaign.
The broader district in which the project is located has seen consistent technical activity recently. In June 2026, the company expanded gold mineralization at the County Line project within the surrounding district. Additionally, the explorer released results from an exploration campaign at the East Camp Douglas property in July 2026. These activities highlight the ongoing work being conducted by the company across its regional holdings.
As the company proceeds with follow-up drilling, the focus remains on further expanding and defining the Scarlet North target. By leveraging the existing nearby processing capacity and the relatively simple metallurgy of the oxide ore, the development plan remains focused on integrating this new mineralization into the established production workflow. The company plans to continue its exploration efforts to determine the full extent of the system, with further updates expected as baseline environmental studies progress toward the final permit applications necessary to initiate open-pit extraction operations in the coming seasons.
