Founders Metals Hits 28.0 Metres of 14.27 g/t Gold at Antino
Founders Metals Inc. has intersected 28.0 metres grading 14.27 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 433.0 metres down-hole at the Upper Antino target, located within the Antino Gold Project in southeastern Suriname. This result extends known mineralization 50 metres down-dip from previously reported drill hole FR175, which yielded 10.0 metres at 5.90 g/t gold.
Drill hole FR249 encountered four stacked, sub-parallel shear zones between 285.0 metres and 461.0 metres. According to the company, the deepest of these zones returned the 28.0-metre high-grade intercept at approximately 340 metres vertical depth. Other shears intersected in the same hole included 18.0 metres grading 1.04 g/t gold from 285.0 metres, 24.0 metres at 0.36 g/t gold from 319.0 metres, and 6.0 metres at 1.62 g/t gold from 415.0 metres. These results confirm that the stacked architecture of the gold-bearing shear zones persists at depth.
The mineralization at Upper Antino is structurally controlled and occurs where these shear zones transect a large gabbro body. The company notes that this gabbro unit is a favourable host rock, as its competent, brittle nature facilitates fracturing and subsequent quartz veining, while its iron-rich composition promotes gold deposition from mineralizing fluids. Because the gabbro unit widens at depth, the structures intersect increasingly larger volumes of this host rock, creating a progressively expanding target for exploration.
Other drill holes completed in the recent program returned results consistent with the multi-zone character of the Upper Antino target. Drill hole FR231 intersected 3.0 metres grading 6.06 g/t gold from 45.6 metres, while drill hole FR241 returned a broad interval of 56.0 metres grading 0.40 g/t gold from 351.0 metres, a section that included 10.0 metres at 1.10 g/t gold.
Founders Metals plans to conduct follow-up drilling to track the high-grade structure along strike and down-plunge, with a particular focus on areas where these structures intersect the gabbro unit.
Founders Metals is currently trading at $4.33, up 7.44% on 5 August 2026. The stock rose 7.44% in the session that coincided with the release of the drill results.
