FPX Nickel has renewed its commitment to the United Nations Global Compact and filed its inaugural Communications on Progress report, while expanding its sustainability frameworks to generative exploration properties.

The company originally joined the Mining Association of Canada and signed on to the UN Global Compact in 2025. Under the latest update, those sustainability initiatives have now been extended to generative exploration activities at the Advocate Property in Newfoundland, where FPX holds nickel targets across ultramafic rocks and runs a 4,000-metre diamond drill program.

The integration of these standards follows British Columbia’s decision to name the flagship Baptiste Nickel Project as a major priority project under the Look West economic strategy. FPX is currently advancing Baptiste through the environmental assessment regulatory process in the province.

“Our team is committed to delivering on our values and going beyond regulatory requirements in embedding sustainability into our work; from strong board and operational governance, environmental stewardship, transparent engagement and a respect for human and labour rights,” commented Martin Turenne, FPX Nickel's President and CEO. “Through our participation in these internationally-recognized initiatives, we are demonstrating our commitment to best practices in conducting exploration and advancing our projects in the right way, delivering value for shareholders and local communities.”

President and CEO Martin Turenne noted that participation in these internationally recognized initiatives demonstrates the company's commitment to best practices and advancing projects responsibly to deliver value for shareholders and local communities.
