Freedom Gold Corp. has launched a non-brokered private placement to raise up to C$800,000 through the sale of up to 4,444,444 flow-through common shares priced at C$0.18 each.

The proceeds from the offering will be directed toward qualifying Canadian exploration expenses across the company's Nova Scotia portfolio, which includes the Widow Point, Blockhouse, Frenchvale, and Westfield properties. Freedom Gold must incur these qualifying expenditures by December 31, 2027, and renounce them to subscribers with an effective date no later than December 31, 2026. The financing is scheduled to close on or about September 30, 2026, with all resulting securities subject to a four-month and one-day hold period. Certain insiders may participate in the placement as a related-party transaction.

Alongside the financing, Freedom Gold appointed John Shurko as Chief Executive Officer and director, effective immediately. He succeeds interim Chief Executive Officer Veronique Laberge, who transitions to serve as the company's Chief Financial Officer.

The incoming chief executive is the co-founder and President of 21Alpha Resources Inc., the optionor from which the company acquired its 100% interest in the Widow Point, Blockhouse, Frenchvale, and Westfield properties earlier this year. In his new role, Shurko will oversee corporate leadership and the ongoing exploration strategy for the regional asset base.

Activity across the wider provincial jurisdiction has also seen movement, notably as St Barbara Limited reported an increased Mineral Resources Estimate of 2.5 million ounces gold for the 15-Mile Processing Hub project in July 2026.
