Frontier Lithium Awards Updated Mine and Mill Feasibility Study for PAK Project to DRA Americas

Frontier Lithium Inc. has awarded an updated feasibility study for the mine and mill stage of its PAK Lithium Project in northwestern Ontario to DRA Americas Inc., targeting completion in the first quarter of 2027.
The updated study will incorporate work completed since the company's 2025 Feasibility Study, including value engineering results, and will assess process design refinements, mass and water balance modelling, geotechnical investigations, operating assumptions, and throughput scenarios to optimize project economics and de-risk execution planning.
Frontier previously advanced its technical studies to a Preliminary Economic Assessment in February 2021, whereas the current announcement awards an updated feasibility study to DRA Americas Inc. targeted for completion in the first quarter of 2027.
The technical update runs alongside ongoing permitting and consultation activities under Ontario’s One Project, One Process framework, together with Indigenous community engagement, environmental studies, and infrastructure initiatives. In parallel with the mine and mill work, Frontier awarded a definitive feasibility study for a downstream lithium conversion facility in Thunder Bay, Ontario, to Fluor Canada Ltd. in July 2025, with that facility targeting initial production of approximately 20,000 tonnes per annum of battery-grade lithium salts commencing in 2030.
“Since completing our 2025 Feasibility Study, we have continued to build meaningful momentum across the PAK Lithium Project through technical advancement, permitting progress, infrastructure planning and strategic partnership initiatives,” said Trevor Walker, President and Chief Executive Officer of Frontier Lithium.
“This updated feasibility study is about capturing that progress and positioning the Mine and Mill stage for the next phase of development. With one of North America's highest-grade known lithium resources, a strategic location in Ontario and growing demand for secure domestic critical mineral supply, we believe PAK is a standout development opportunity.”
The PAK project is operated as a joint venture between Frontier, which holds a 92.5% interest, and Mitsubishi Corporation, which holds a 7.5% stake.
