Geopacific Extends Woodlark Mineralisation With High-Grade Gold Intercepts
Geopacific Resources Limited has completed a 29-hole drilling program at its 1.98-million-ounce Woodlark Gold Project in Papua New Guinea, returning significant high-grade gold intercepts across near-mine and regional target areas.
The drilling campaign targeted near-mine resource extensions and emerging discovery targets across the Kulumadau, Busai, and Woodlark King project areas. Standout intersections include 1.4 metres grading 29.40 grams per tonne gold from 257 metres at Busai Deeps in hole BSRD25008, and 2.3 metres grading 16.40 grams per tonne gold from 114.7 metres at Little MacKenzie in hole LMDD25032.
Additional notable results comprise 36 metres at 1.48 grams per tonne gold from 60 metres at Woodlark King NW, 2.7 metres at 9.34 grams per tonne gold from 110 metres at Great Northern, and 9 metres at 4.20 grams per tonne gold from 141 metres at Wayai Creek.
Geopacific holds a 100% interest in the project as its primary development asset. The company is integrating the latest assay results with existing geological, geochemical, and structural datasets to refine geological models and support future mine planning.
“The latest results from drilling across Woodlark continue to strengthen our geological understanding of the Project, reinforce the scale of the opportunity ahead of us and provide potential upside to the DFS. The program has delivered a series of high-grade gold intercepts across near-mine and regional target areas, supporting the potential for resource growth and improved confidence in future mine planning.”
“We also continue to advance a clear pipeline of near-mine and regional exploration programs, including testing for extensions to known mineralisation under shallow cover in areas that have seen limited exploration. This exploration momentum will ensure that we continue to build a growth pathway for the Project.”

The findings follow a Definitive Feasibility Study completed in May 2026, which outlined an open-pit operation forecast to produce over 100,000 ounces of gold annually with an 18-month payback period. Geopacific is targeting a Final Investment Decision for the project by late 2026 and plans to apply to the Papua New Guinea Mineral Resources Authority to amend existing Leases for Mining Purposes to align with an approved environmental permit update.
