Global Lithium Resources (ASX: GL1) has received approval for the Mining Development and Closure Proposal (MDCP) for the Manna project in Western Australia. The regulatory sign-off, which arrived slightly ahead of the company’s internal schedule, authorizes the commencement of early works and the construction of critical infrastructure, including an accommodation village, bore fields, and waste rock facilities.

The approval covers the planned development of one primary open pit and two satellite pits. This infrastructure baseline is intended to support the company’s integrated development strategy as it moves toward a Final Investment Decision targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026.

With the MDCP secured, the company is maintaining its focus on a fast-tracked production schedule. Current internal planning targets the commencement of direct shipping ore operations in the second quarter of 2027, followed by the initial production of SC5.5 spodumene concentrate by mid-2027. The project is designed to support mining operations for at least 14 years.
