Godolphin Resources Pivots to Gold-Copper Portfolio with Portfolio Rationalisation
Godolphin Resources Limited has updated its exploration strategy to concentrate on its gold and copper assets in the Lachlan Fold Belt, New South Wales, following the divestment of non-core projects and a planned name change to Orbit Resources Limited.
The company has streamlined its project holdings throughout the first half of 2026, including the sale of its Gundagai and Calarie projects and the proposed spin-out of the Narraburra Rare Earths Project into an independent entity, Matrix Critical Minerals Limited. This pivot aims to direct the company’s capital and technical resources toward a more focused portfolio of precious and base metals.
“The delivery of this complementary strategy marks an important milestone as the Company transitions to a more focused exploration and development business program centred on gold, silver, copper and base metals in the highly prospective Lachlan Fold Belt of New South Wales.”
“Over the past six months, we have streamlined our portfolio through the divestment of non-core assets and the proposed spin-out of the Narraburra Rare Earths Project, enabling us to direct capital and technical expertise towards our highest-value opportunities.”
— Ms Jeneta Owens, Managing Director
The updated strategy prioritises immediate field work and drilling across the company’s gold-copper portfolio. Central to this activity is the 100%-owned Mt Aubrey Gold Project, which contains an Inferred Mineral Resource of 1.21 million tonnes at 1.61g/t gold for 62,400 ounces of contained gold. Godolphin plans to commence aircore drilling at Mt Aubrey to test for extensions to historical high-grade gold zones identified in previous programs.
The company is also targeting the Copper Hill East Project, where previous exploration identified an 8km long copper-gold corridor. Beyond these priority areas, Godolphin is conducting field work across its broader portfolio, with results from these programs anticipated in the coming months. These efforts complement ongoing development activities at the company’s flagship Lewis Ponds gold-silver project and the newly identified Cousin Jack discovery.
