Homerun Signs MoU With CEITEC for Silicon Carbide Wafers

Homerun Resources Inc. has executed a three-year memorandum of understanding with Centro Nacional de Tecnologia Eletrônica Avançada S.A. to establish technical and institutional cooperation for silicon carbide substrate and wafer technologies in Brazil.
The strategic agreement sets general guidelines for joint studies and projects aimed at developing, producing, qualifying, and establishing manufacturing capabilities for semiconductor-grade silicon carbide substrates and wafers. Under the arrangement, Homerun will supply material produced from its high-purity silica resources for offtake by the state-owned microelectronics company, fostering a vertically integrated local supply chain in Brazil.
Technical teams from both organisations will collaborate under structured work plans defined in separate, specific cooperation agreements. The partners will also seek domestic and international funding sources to support specific technical projects focused on building out the end-to-end silicon carbide value chain.
"Partnering with CEITEC, a key semiconductor manufacturer in Brazil, allows us to close the loop on a local, vertically integrated supply chain. By aligning our high-purity feedstocks and rapid processing technologies with CEITEC's manufacturing and validation expertise, we are positioning Brazil as a powerhouse for advanced Silicon Carbide substrate technologies during a time of intense global supply chain competition. This collaboration is designed to translate raw earth advantages directly into high-barrier deep-tech semiconductor solutions." — Brian Leeners, CEO
The cooperation builds on Homerun's broader operational footprint in the region. The company previously secured the expropriation of the 64.50-hectare Fazenda São José property in Belmonte, Bahia, via Municipal Decree 150 in June 2025 to implement its Brazilian factory operations. Homerun was also included in the Programa Desenvolve tax incentive program in July 2026, granting state value-added tax deferrals for the Belmonte Silica District project.
