Infini Resources Completes Geophysical Survey at Portland Creek
Infini Resources Limited (ASX:I88) has completed a 737 line-kilometre high-resolution airborne radiometric survey at its Portland Creek project in Newfoundland, Canada. The survey, which utilized 200-metre spaced flight lines, aims to refine the geological understanding of the uranium system by mapping major fault sets and structural intersections. By integrating this new radiometric data with existing magnetic and electromagnetic coverage, the company is characterizing hydrothermal alteration zones within the granite host rock.
Preliminary analysis suggests that the uranium mineralization at the site is likely fracture-controlled rather than associated with conductive sulphides. The geophysical interpretation is currently identifying magnetic-low zones, which act as potential indicators for hematite alteration halos. These features are being cross-referenced with geochemical data and previous drilling results to identify high-priority targets.
Field crews have now mobilized to the site to conduct ground-truthing of the identified anomalies. Current activities include detailed structural mapping, rock chip sampling, and prospecting. The team is specifically focused on constraining the orientation of principal structures and breccia bodies, as well as testing for pathfinder element associations—such as molybdenum, zinc, and copper—to improve geochemical targeting ahead of upcoming operations.
"The integrated geophysical and geological dataset we are building is designed to deliver sharper targets and a more focused Phase 3 drilling program commencing in Q3, where we aim to build upon drilling results of 2025 and convert this growing technical understanding into meaningful discovery outcomes for shareholders."
— Rohan Bone, Chief Executive Officer
The company expects to finalize the scope of its next phase of work by integrating these field observations with the updated geophysical datasets. Regulatory approvals and logistics for the Phase 3 diamond drilling program are already in progress, maintaining the schedule for a Q3 2026 commencement to test the project’s most prospective structural corridors.
