IperionX Limited has been awarded a second U.S. Army task order valued at up to US$25.4 million under an existing SBIR Phase III contract to accelerate domestic titanium component manufacturing.

The firm-fixed-price award carries a stated base value of US$18.5 million, of which US$11.5 million is currently funded and obligated. A further US$6.9 million in unexercised options remains available at the U.S. Government's discretion. The new funding scales up IperionX operations significantly from an initial US$1.3 million task order issued earlier under the same contract framework.

The agreement provides capital for three fully funded work packages and an initial allotment for a fourth at the company’s manufacturing facility in Virginia. IperionX will identify, procure, install, and commission continuous Hydrogen Sintering and Phase Transformation furnaces alongside industrial-scale dehydrogenation capacity.

The program also includes acquiring centerless grinding and thread-rolling equipment to bring titanium fastener finishing fully in-house. These systems are designed to process production-scale titanium track pins, bolts, and fasteners for ground-combat applications, with final inspection and acceptance scheduled at Detroit Arsenal.

This second U.S. Army task order represents an important step in scaling IperionX's titanium powder-to-part manufacturing platform. The SBIR Phase III award aims to advance continuous and industrial-scale HSPT™ and dehydride capacity and bring titanium fastener finishing fully in-house at our Virginia titanium manufacturing facility.

Recent independent testing by the U.S. Army DEVCOM Ground Vehicle Systems Center and Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research validated that company-produced titanium fasteners exceed SAE Grade 8 steel torque-to-yield performance.

The latest contract also adds to substantial federal backing secured by the company, including US$59.8 million in fully obligated reimbursable funding under Defense Production Act Title III and Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment programs.
