IperionX Limited has secured a second U.S. Army task order with a stated base value of US$18.5 million to accelerate domestic titanium component manufacturing at its Virginia facility. Of that amount, US$11.5 million is currently funded and obligated, while unexercised and unfunded options could increase the total value of Task Order 2 to a maximum of US$25.4 million at the U.S. Government’s discretion.

The award is issued under IperionX’s existing US$99 million Small Business Innovation Research Phase III Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contract for low-cost, domestic titanium. Task Orders 1 and 2 now carry an aggregate stated value of approximately US$19.8 million, leaving US$79.2 million remaining under the overarching contract ceiling. By comparison, the initial task order under the contract framework was valued at US$1.3 million.

The funding supports equipment and manufacturing systems designed to expand domestic titanium powder-to-part capacity at the Titanium Manufacturing Campus, where commercial equipment for scrap-to-forged titanium production has already been commissioned. The program will advance continuous Hydrogen Sintering and Phase Transformation and dehydride furnace capacity, alongside equipment to bring titanium fastener finishing fully in-house. These systems will produce titanium track pins, bolts and fasteners for defense applications, with inspection and acceptance planned at Detroit Arsenal and the Army Research Laboratory’s Aberdeen Proving Ground.

The company operates its Virginia site as part of an integrated manufacturing platform combining the GenX and continuous Hydrogen Assisted Metallothermic Reduction technologies. Looking ahead, IperionX targets an expansion in titanium production capacity to 1,400 tons per annum at the facility in 2027. Future option line items under Task Order 2 also include an aerospace-grade titanium component program with a leading supplier, C103 alloy scrap recycling, and spherical niobium and C103 powder development.
