Javelin Minerals to Test Deep Targets at Coogee
Javelin Minerals Limited (JAV) is launching an exploration campaign at its Coogee project in Western Australia to investigate two significant magnetic anomalies. The company plans to execute a diamond drilling program during the third quarter of 2026, targeting deep-seated structures that remain untested despite their proximity to known gold and copper mineralisation. This effort is supported by government funding secured through the Exploration Incentive Scheme.
The primary focus for the upcoming drilling lies at Coogee North and Coogee West. At Coogee North, existing mineralisation is associated with a specific alteration assemblage that suggests the presence of a magmatic intrusion. While previous reverse circulation drilling identified high-grade gold and copper shoots, modelling indicates that the primary source of the magnetic response resides approximately 700 metres below the surface and has not yet been intersected. The company intends to drill a deep hole of roughly 800 metres to evaluate this potential intrusive source and refine its understanding of the system.
At the Coogee West target, magnetic signatures share characteristics with the Coogee North site, though the area is largely covered by transported sediments. Earlier shallow air-core drilling returned consistent bedrock gold anomalism across a broad area. Javelin plans to deploy a single deep diamond drill hole, projected to reach 1,000 metres, to test for an interpreted intrusive body that modelling suggests sits between 450 and 600 metres deep.
Beyond the deep diamond drilling, the company is preparing for broader exploration activity across the property. Javelin is currently finalising heritage clearance approvals to proceed with planned reverse circulation and aircore drilling programs. These upcoming campaigns are designed to further investigate the main mineralised corridor, specifically targeting extensions to high-grade gold and copper zones previously identified in earlier programs. By combining deep testing of geophysical anomalies with ongoing near-surface exploration, the company aims to evaluate the potential for large-scale mineralisation across the wider project area, following recent efforts to expand its land holdings.
