Kalamazoo Resources (KZR) has finalised its resource definition drilling program at the Ashburton gold project in Western Australia. The completed campaign, which comprised 72 drill holes totalling 13,726 metres, was designed to increase geological confidence at the Mt Olympus deposit. By tightening the drill spacing to approximately 20 metres by 20 metres, the company intends to support the conversion of Inferred Mineral Resources into the higher-confidence Indicated category.

The latest assay results, drawn from 15 of the recently completed holes, demonstrate strong geological continuity. Several intersections returned high grades, including 20.0m @ 3.1 g/t Au. These results, alongside others exceeding 50 gram-metres, provide the data necessary to progress the project’s technical studies.

"Completion of the Mt Olympus Resource Definition Drilling Program marks another important milestone for the Ashburton Gold Project. The latest results received from the resource definition drilling continue to demonstrate the excellent continuity of high-grade mineralisation across Mt Olympus, materially increasing our confidence ahead of the updated MRE."

— Dr Ben Ackerman, Executive Director

Management notes that the drilling not only improved resource definition but also identified mineralisation beyond the current resource envelope. This provides a platform for the ongoing Pre-Feasibility Study. The company expects to receive the remaining assay results from the resource definition program over the coming weeks, which will be incorporated into the geological model.

Looking forward, Kalamazoo has already shifted its focus to expansion. A growth drilling program has commenced at Mt Olympus, targeting resource extensions beneath the deposit. Concurrently, the team is drilling at the nearby Peake deposit to test the depth continuity of previously mined high-grade zones. These combined efforts are aimed at extending potential mine life and enhancing the overall production profile of the project. The company remains on track to deliver an updated Mineral Resource Estimate for the broader Ashburton asset in the fourth quarter of 2026. Additionally, the developer has moved to expand its total controlled tenure in the region to 519 square kilometres through recent tenement applications to capture further potential growth.
