Kalgoorlie Gold Mining Limited has executed a comprehensive Heritage Protection Agreement with the Kakarra Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC over Kakarra Country east of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.

The agreement establishes a framework to protect cultural heritage while streamlining operational access across the Pinjin and Bulong Taurus gold projects. The updated accord supersedes a prior limited agreement that was restricted to a single tenement, E28/3134.

The renegotiation was required following a Federal Court native title consent determination issued on April 30, 2025, which recognised the native title rights of the Kakarra people across the region. That ruling led to the amalgamation of the Kakarra Part A and Part B claims under the Kakarra Aboriginal Corporation, necessitating an updated framework to cover all tenements held by KalGold as well as tenure where the company holds secure gold rights by agreement.

In practical terms, the agreement is designed to facilitate timely site-appropriate heritage surveys, prompt clearances for forthcoming resource and exploration drill programs, and streamlined application processes for new exploration and prospecting licences at Pinjin. At the Bulong Taurus project, the framework will assist with heritage clearances for work programs near Lake Yindarlgooda.

The updated agreement also supports future tenure applications by allowing the Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration to reference the HPA, potentially quickening the grant of new project areas, which will automatically be included under the agreement.

“Executing a comprehensive Heritage Protection Agreement with the Kakarra Traditional Owners is a significant milestone for KalGold. We sincerely thank the Kakarra people for their constructive and proactive engagement to produce an agreement that benefits both organisations and the people of the land.”

— Dr Matt Painter, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer

KalGold holds a total gold resource exceeding 214,000 ounces across its Western Australian portfolio. This comprises 138,000 ounces at the Bulong Taurus project's La Mascotte deposit and 76,400 ounces at the Pinjin project's Kirgella Gift and Providence deposits.

The company anticipates receiving laboratory assay results for its recently completed aircore drill program at the Pinjin project within six weeks of August 14, 2026.
