KAP Minerals Inc. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Moose Cree First Nation to establish a framework for collaboration as planning advances for the Kapuskasing Critical Minerals Processing Hub in Northern Ontario.

The arrangement sets out a structured process for ongoing engagement to explore environmental, cultural, and socio-economic considerations, alongside potential future commercial agreements. The proposed processing hub, situated approximately 40 kilometres southwest of Kapuskasing within the Moose Cree First Nation Homeland, involves redeveloping the historic Agrium phosphate mine. The facility is designed to produce low-cadmium phosphate products, rare earth element concentrates, scandium, titanium, and other strategic materials.

The parties intend to pursue a collaborative relationship that explores investment and equity participation by Moose Cree First Nation and its member-owned businesses, alongside employment, education, and workforce development opportunities.

The agreement follows KAP's signing of a strategic partnership Memorandum of Understanding with Hanwa Co., Ltd. in May 2026 to negotiate long-term offtake and commercial collaboration for production from the project. Both companies intend to negotiate long-term commercial cooperation and offtake agreements for phosphate, rare earth elements, and scandium production from the Kapuskasing project.
