KGL Resources Advances Jervois Copper Project Following A$300 Million Funding Package

KGL Resources Limited has moved its 100%-owned Jervois Copper Project in the Northern Territory into active project execution, with preparatory development work underway following the completion of a A$300 million equity raising.
The capital injection, alongside a US$300 million precious metals purchase agreement with Wheaton Precious Metals, fully funds the project through construction and into production. Jervois features an initial 10-year mine life designed to produce approximately 30,000 tonnes of copper per annum at steady state.
Practical development milestones are advancing across multiple fronts. KGL has executed an approximately A$36 million contract with Northern Transportables Pty Ltd to design, manufacture, transport, install and commission a 180-person accommodation village and associated mine infrastructure buildings. The village will provide 252 single-occupancy rooms, with the first 100 new rooms and principal facilities scheduled for occupation in February 2027. All 180 new rooms are scheduled to be available by April 2027, followed by the relocation and commissioning of 72 refurbished en-suited rooms by June 2027.
Procurement of critical long-lead process equipment has also formally commenced, marking a clear operational shift from previous quarterly reports when early works were restricted to securing initial long-lead items. At the site, a drilling contractor has mobilized to conduct geotechnical drilling for the process-plant location and associated infrastructure, alongside exploration drilling targeting high-priority areas identified through 3D inversion modeling.
“Our focus is now firmly on execution, with development activities advancing across several critical workstreams, including accommodation and mine infrastructure, long-lead process equipment procurement and drilling.”
— Sam Strohmayr, Chief Executive Officer
Meanwhile, the engineering, procurement and construction contract with Sedgman for the 2.0 million tonnes per annum capacity process plant is being finalized, and the open-pit mining contractor selection process is progressing.
A Final Investment Decision and the commencement of the principal construction program remain targeted for the third quarter of calendar 2026, with first sulphide mill feed and process-plant commissioning scheduled for the first half of calendar 2028.
