Kingston Resources Limited (ASX: KSN) has reported a significant expansion of the Mineral Resource Estimate at its Mineral Hill project in New South Wales. The company announced a 50% increase in tonnage for the Southern Ore Zone, which now sits at 6.54 million tonnes, up from 4.36 million tonnes. This update follows a focused 3,413-meter drilling campaign comprising 26 holes, which the company states has successfully confirmed and extended the existing geological model for the deposit.

The resource growth includes a 38% rise in Measured and Indicated categories to 3.05 million tonnes, providing a larger base for future mine planning and potential reserve conversion. Overall, the total Mineral Hill resource base has grown to 12.07 million tonnes. The company noted that the Southern Ore Zone remains open in all directions, suggesting further potential to build upon the current inventory.

"This update is a demonstration of what can be achieved at Mineral Hill with a relatively small amount of drilling. We are now looking at 25,000m of drilling over the next 12 months with the dual purpose of increasing the size of the resource and lifting the proportion of Measured and Indicated. The SOZ Resource remains open in all directions with drilling currently underway." — Andrew Corbett, Managing Director and CEO

Beyond the immediate project footprint, the broader region is seeing active exploration. Notably, Inflection Resources is actively drilling the Trangie project, which is situated within 100km of the site and is currently targeting porphyry-style gold-copper mineralisation. This regional activity highlights the continued interest in the geological potential of the area as miners look to define and expand resources across the district.

The Mineral Hill project itself is a volcanic-hosted massive sulphide deposit, supplemented by overprinted epithermal systems. The current mining strategy focuses on the Southern Ore Zone as the primary source for upcoming underground production. With the resource base now reaching an estimated 873,000 ounces of gold equivalent, the company is evaluating the path toward increasing its operational throughput. The current processing facility operates at 350,000 tonnes per annum, and management is considering the technical requirements to potentially scale this toward 700,000 tonnes per annum.

The company plans to use the coming months to integrate the new data into updated technical studies. This includes work at the Jack’s Hut deposit, which serves as a secondary underground focus with historical high-grade production. By systematically drilling these zones, the company aims to solidify the foundation for a larger, more resilient operation. The ongoing 25,000-meter drilling program is designed to provide the necessary data for future resource and reserve updates, ensuring that the development timeline remains aligned with the increasing geological confidence in the Mineral Hill area.
