Koba Resources Limited (ASX: KOB) has officially launched its maiden 3,000-metre drilling campaign at the Mt Garnet project in North Queensland. This milestone represents a significant step forward in the company’s development plans for the asset, which was originally acquired in October 2025. The current program is designed to test the scale of the mineralised system across two high-priority target areas.

"We are excited to have commenced our maiden 3,000m drilling program at our 100%-owned Mt Garnet Tin-Tungsten Project in North Queensland."

"The drill program will initially target the high-priority Stannex Prospect that presents as a well-defined drill target that extends over >2km of strike, supported by coincident high tenor tin-in-soil anomalies, strong geophysical anomalies and high-grade surface mineralisation up to 21.3% tin."

The primary focus at the Stannex Prospect is a substantial 2.0-kilometre by 0.5-kilometre tin-in-soil anomaly. Recent induced polarisation (IP) surveys have identified chargeability anomalies that display strong lateral continuity and depth extent, coinciding with previous surface sampling results that returned grades as high as 21.3% tin. The drilling will seek to validate these geophysical findings and define the underlying geological structure of the mineralised zones.

Beyond Stannex, the campaign includes testing at the historic Gilmore Mine, where previous production reached 26,169 tonnes at 7.3% tin. Historical drilling records from the site indicate high-grade intersections, including 1 metre at 5.2% tin and multiple intervals of tungsten mineralisation, such as 3 metres at 1.2% tungsten. Koba intends to use this maiden program to evaluate the potential for high-grade extensions that remain largely untested.

This activity is part of the company’s broader strategy to consolidate its footprint in North Queensland. By advancing Mt Garnet alongside its Stannary Hills project, the explorer is aiming to demonstrate the potential for a consistent pipeline of tin and tungsten development. Following the completion of this current drilling at Mt Garnet, Koba expects to shift its focus to the Kitchener and Jiminy prospects at Stannary Hills, where a separate 3,000-metre program is slated to begin in the third quarter. In the interim, investors can expect further technical updates as assay results from a recent tungsten-focused rock chip sampling program at Mt Garnet are anticipated later in July 2026.
