Krakatoa Advances Drilling and Sampling at Zopkhito Antimony-Gold Project

Krakatoa Resources has completed more than 1,000 metres of diamond and underground core sampling at the Zopkhito Antimony-Gold Project in Georgia, as the company works toward delivering a maiden JORC-compliant Mineral Resource Estimate.
Surface drilling has shifted to the western zone of the deposit to test several undrilled veins from a series of stacked, near-vertical structures. Meanwhile, underground activities are focused within the central area to collect geological data and samples from historical adits.
"Surface drilling has now moved to the western zone, where we are targeting several previously undrilled veins, while underground work in the central zone is generating additional geological data and samples for analysis."
— Mark Major, CEO
The current field campaign shows an increase in activity compared to earlier in the year. A July 2026 operational update reported four completed surface diamond holes and 13 underground holes. That total has now advanced to 11 surface holes and 27 underground holes.
To fund the initial 10% interest acquisition in the project and accelerate 2026 field operations, Krakatoa secured $2.4 million in August 2026 through a share placement. The company holds an exclusive option to increase its stake in the project up to 80% and is currently working to finalise the initial ownership transaction.
Preparation for metallurgical bulk sampling is complete, with samples scheduled for collection within coming weeks. These will be sent to Europe for optical and scanning ore sorting alongside testwork programs. Environmental baseline studies and permitting work are running concurrently with the technical programs.
Assays from the first batch of samples are anticipated in mid-September 2026. A second batch is already at the laboratory, and a third batch has recently been dispatched from site.
