Krakatoa Resources Limited (ASX: KTA) has reported encouraging early results from its 2026 exploration program at the Zopkhito antimony-gold project in Georgia. Initial diamond drilling, consisting of two surface holes and four underground adit holes, has confirmed the presence of significant visual antimony mineralization. The company is systematically targeting known gold and antimony-bearing veins within historical underground workings to refine its geological model.

One highlight includes an intersection in hole DD26ZOP-002, which returned a 2.86-meter interval of antimony mineralization. Within this, a 60-centimeter section demonstrated significant visual stibnite content, estimated at approximately 50%. Another 44-centimeter interval in the same hole showed an estimated 25% stibnite. While these visual results indicate the potential scale of the mineralization, the company noted that assays remain pending and caution that visual estimates are not a substitute for laboratory analysis.

The primary objective of the 2026 program is to aggregate geological data from recent drilling and historical records to support the delivery of a maiden JORC-compliant Mineral Resource Estimate. Beyond the drill bit, the company is actively pursuing a multi-faceted development strategy. This includes upcoming adit bulk sampling, which is expected to commence in the coming weeks to provide further clarity on the vein systems. Additionally, the company is progressing with metallurgical optimisation test work and ongoing environmental baseline studies, all of which are designed to advance the site toward formal regulatory milestones.
