Liberty Gold has submitted its Preliminary Cyanidation Design Report to the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (IDEQ), moving the Black Pine project from internal planning into the active state-level permitting phase. This submission serves as the foundation for the agency’s technical review, detailing the proposed process plant, heap leach facility, and the required groundwater monitoring framework for the site.

The report specifies the design of the project's containment systems, operational procedures, and the proposed reclamation and closure plan. The accompanying groundwater monitoring plan outlines the intended network of wells, including their proposed siting and the commitments the company will make regarding survey requirements and future reporting. While these documents establish the basis for the application, they do not constitute the final permit itself, and the groundwater monitoring framework remains subject to subsequent review and approval by the IDEQ.

In tandem with the design filing, Liberty Gold has formally joined the International Cyanide Management Institute (ICMI). As a new signatory to the International Cyanide Management Code, the company has committed to voluntary industry standards governing the handling, transport, and storage of cyanide. Liberty Gold plans to seek pre-operational design certification from the ICMI once it submits its formal cyanidation permit application, followed by an application for formal operational certification within three years of starting active mining and leaching operations at the site.

The project is currently advancing through multiple development tracks. The federal environmental review is proceeding under the FAST-41 “Covered Project” framework, which coordinates the regulatory schedule across various agencies. Liberty Gold is currently maintaining the permitting schedule established by this federal-state process as it moves through feasibility-level engineering and execution planning.

Looking toward upcoming milestones, the company is targeting the completion of the feasibility study for Black Pine by the fourth quarter of 2026. Following the current preliminary design phase, Liberty Gold intends to submit the formal cyanidation permit application package in the first quarter of 2027.

Shares of Liberty Gold are currently trading on the TSX and are up 5.44% on 5 August 2026, with the stock price rising in the session following the release of the Black Pine submission milestone.
