Liberty Metals Identifies Visible Gold and Extends Fieldwork at Oko North

Liberty Metals Ltd has identified extensive artisanal gold workings alongside coarse visible gold, quartz veining, and basement shearing during maiden fieldwork at the Oko North Project in Guyana’s Cuyuni Mining District.
The field program forms part of a district-scale package secured under a binding four-year option agreement announced on August 12, 2026, giving Liberty Metals a 90% interest across 44,288 acres spanning 40 granted mining permits. In addition to Oko North, the tenure includes the adjacent Oko South project, which covers approximately 30km of the southern structural continuation of the regional greenstone belt trend.
Field teams have mapped basement shearing, quartz veining, and hydrothermal alteration across priority target areas. Liberty Metals has collected and submitted 55 rock chip samples for laboratory assay, with results anticipated within four to six weeks.
To accelerate target generation, the company has launched a systematic soil geochemical program comprising approximately 5,000 samples. This work uses portable XRF analysis combined with patented DetectORE gold detection technology to vector towards hard-rock sources beneath historical workings. High-resolution satellite imagery is also being collected to map the structural architecture across the tenure.
Following the completion of soil geochemical sampling, Liberty Metals plans to conduct a maiden drill campaign at the project.
“We quickly commenced systematic, boots-on-the-ground exploration in an area that hosts the same greenstone-belt rocks and structural corridor as the Oko discoveries, yet has never been tested with modern techniques.”
— Mr Nicholas Katris, Executive Chairman
Regional activity across the surrounding district continues to advance, with nearby explorer Altair Minerals commenced maiden reverse circulation drilling at its Greater Oko project on September 1, 2026.
