Lightning Minerals Hits 5.46% Tungsten in Phase 2 Rock Chips at Warby

Lightning Minerals has returned peak rock chip assays of up to 5.46% tungsten from Phase 2 exploration at the 100%-owned Warby Tungsten Project in North Queensland, located approximately 25 kilometres north of Mount Surprise.
Five of the six rock chip samples collected from historical, artisanal dumps during the July 2026 field program returned tungsten grades above 1.00%, confirming earlier findings from Phase 1 sampling announced in June. The latest sampling program extended known mineralised quartz veins to the southeast and identified potential vein extensions across the area. The dominant tungsten mineral observed is wolframite, occurring as coarse acicular blades up to three centimetres long and as fine disseminated crystals within quartz veining.
Assays also highlighted polymetallic associations within the mineralised system. Sample 106161 returned 2.22 parts per million gold combined with 2,100 parts per million tin and greater than 10,000 parts per million tungsten. True vein widths could not be directly measured because the historical workings are shallow, collapsed, and heavily vegetated.
Reference samples collected from dump material indicate the local geology comprises biotite migmatite gneiss and leucocratic muscovite microgranites belonging to the Meso-Proterozoic Lyndbrook Complex. The area has undergone regional north-northwest faulting driven by movement along the Lynd Mylonite Zone, which accommodated the introduction of fractionated granite dykes and associated wolframite mineralisation. Subsequent structural reactivation brecciated early-stage quartz veining and introduced a second phase of wolframite alongside copper sulphide mineralisation.
Within the wider regional district, Koba Resources Limited reported high-grade tungsten sampling results up to 13.2% W at its Mt Garnet project.
Lightning Minerals expects to receive assay results from a further 90 soil samples and 17 drainage samples by the end of August 2026. The company plans to integrate these pending assays with geological and structural data to prioritize Phase 3 exploration and potential drill targets.
The Phase 2 rock chip assay results represent another important step in our systematic evaluation of the Warby Tungsten Project, confirming the high-grade tungsten mineralisation identified during Phase 1, with five of the six samples returning more than 1.00% tungsten and a peak result of 5.46% tungsten, according to Managing Director Troy Brice.
