Lindian Resources Limited has confirmed that its wholly owned Malawian subsidiary, Rift Valley Resource Developments Ltd, holds a valid mining licence in good standing for the Kangankunde Rare Earths Project following parliamentary clarifications in Malawi.

During a session of the Malawi National Assembly, the Minister of Mining confirmed that government inspections found no evidence of unauthorised extraction or illegal mining at the project. The minister also stated that operations remain well within statutory thresholds and that exported mineral samples received proper clearances for laboratory testing and beneficiation purposes.

“We are encouraged and welcome the clarification provided by the various Government ministries regarding Kangankunde and the confirmation that the Project is operating in accordance with Malawi's laws and regulatory framework. Kangankunde continues to be developed under a valid mining licence in good standing. We remain focused on delivering Kangankunde to first production in Q4 2026 and to continuing our open, constructive and positive engagement with Government and in-country stakeholders regarding licence classifications as we move towards stage two FID.”

— Robert Martin, Executive Chairman

The company continues to work closely with the Government of Malawi and is not aware of any matters arising from recent media reports or parliamentary reviews that would affect the validity of mining licence MML0290/22 or its operational continuity. Lindian is targeting first production at Kangankunde in the fourth quarter of 2026 and continues to engage with the ministry regarding licensing requirements for future expansions as the project progresses toward a stage two final investment decision.
