Mako Mining Corp. has signed a formal mineral agreement with the Cooperative Republic of Guyana and the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission, establishing a 10-year stability framework governing legal, fiscal, and operating terms for the Eagle Mountain Gold Project.

Structured under Guyana’s Mining Act, the agreement provides legal certainty and fixed terms for prospecting licences, mining licences, and authorizations. The framework outlines standard provisions covering royalties, taxes, government undertakings, and commitments to prioritize qualified Guyanese workers and local contractors, alongside scheduled contributions to the Ministry of Natural Resources' Training Centre.

The agreement also establishes binding obligations for environmental stewardship and community development funding. These financial commitments take effect no later than 24 months after the grant of a mining licence or 12 months following the commencement of production, whichever occurs first.

Mako acquired the project following its completion of the Goldsource Mines acquisition on July 3, 2024.

“The signing of the mineral agreement marks a significant milestone for Eagle Mountain and represents an important step in advancing and de-risking the Project by providing greater certainty around key legal and fiscal terms. Equally important, the commitments relating to employment, training, environmental stewardship, and community development are closely aligned with Mako's core values and the approach our teams employ with success across our portfolio of mines and projects. We appreciate the support of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the GGMC and look forward to continuing our collaborative approach as we advance the Eagle Mountain Project under this new mineral agreement.”

The company submitted an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment to the Guyana Environmental Protection Agency in March 2026. Following a public comment period that closed in June 2026, Mako expects to file the final assessment during the fourth quarter of 2026 to support a pending permitting decision.
