Marimaca Extends High-Grade Copper Mineralization at Pampa Medina
Marimaca Copper Corp. (MARI) has reported fresh drill results from its Pampa Medina project in Chile’s Antofagasta region, demonstrating the ongoing expansion of its high-grade copper-silver sulphide system. Recent step-out drilling, highlighted by hole SPRD-07, extended the project’s central bornite-rich zone by 300 meters to the south. The intercept returned 20 meters at 2.65% copper and 13.9 g/t silver, including a higher-grade interval of 6m at 6.11% Cu and 24.0 g/t Ag.
The drilling program further validated the company's geological model, which focuses on multiple stacked, manto-style mineralized horizons. Notably, hole SPRD-08B—the project’s deepest to date at 1,052 meters—intersected mineralization within basement metasediments for the first time. This finding suggests potential for the mineralized system to persist at greater depths beyond previously identified host rock units.
"Our step-out program at Pampa Medina continues to deliver high-grade copper-silver intercepts across the central Area of Interest and further supports our geological model of multiple high-grade stacked mantos. SPRD-07 extended the ultra-high-grade bornite-chalcocite zone 300m south of previous drilling, while SPRD-08B intersected mineralization in basement metasediments for the first time. This is an encouraging development, as it expands the prospective stratigraphy beyond the previously defined host units."
— Sergio Rivera, VP Exploration
Marimaca Copper consolidated the project area along with surrounding land packages in 2024, a strategic move intended to secure the broader exploration footprint now under investigation. The current 2026 campaign is focused on delineating the central area of interest and testing lateral and depth extensions across the property.
To provide further context on these exploration results, the company has scheduled an investor webinar for July 14, 2026. Management, including CEO Hayden Locke, President Nico Cookson, and Sergio Rivera, will discuss the ongoing progress at the site. The event will be hosted via the Investor Meet Company platform, with opportunities for shareholders to submit questions ahead of the presentation. A recording will be made available on the company website following the conclusion of the live session.
