Maritana Minerals Commences Drilling at Wilsons Gold Prospect
Maritana Minerals Limited has begun a 4,000-metre aircore drilling program at the Wilsons Gold Prospect, located approximately 400 metres from the company's Black Swan Processing Hub in Western Australia's Eastern Goldfields.
The program marks the first dedicated gold drilling campaign at Wilsons, an area historically explored almost exclusively for nickel. The drilling is designed to test bedrock geology and regolith beneath a coherent gold-in-soil anomaly measuring 2.5 kilometres by 1.5 kilometres. Maritana also recently secured additional exploration tenements directly to the north, which provide strike extensions for future testing.
“The Wilsons Gold Prospect is a compelling, near-infrastructure discovery opportunity. Sitting within view of the BSPH and on a granted Mining Lease, any discovery has high potential to be a valuable future source of feed for Black Swan.”
“This first-pass aircore program is designed to systematically test what lies beneath a very strong surface anomaly and to build the geological understanding for follow-up drilling, including the northern extension of the Prospect on the underexplored ground we recently acquired from Nano Metals.”
— Grant Haywood, Managing Director and CEO
Maritana is currently transitioning the Black Swan Processing Hub from a feed conversion study phase into early construction, with a strategy centered on the utilization of immediate infrastructure. The ongoing aircore program is intended to define the structural and lithological controls on gold mineralisation, with assays and geological logging results expected by late September or early October 2026.

Elsewhere in the district, exploration activity remains active, with Pilbara Gold recently initiating a 12,000-metre reverse circulation drilling program at the Roe Hills gold project.
