New gold zone discovered at Twin Veins East
MB Gold Limited (ASX: MBG) has identified a new mineralized zone at the Twin Veins East prospect, part of its Marble Bar project in Western Australia. The company’s maiden reverse circulation drilling program successfully intercepted gold 500 metres along strike from known shoots, indicating the potential for further high-grade discoveries across a 1.5-kilometre gold-in-soil anomaly.
The most notable result from the latest batch of assays is a two-metre interval grading 6.73g/t Au, which includes a high-grade one-metre hit of 13.12 g/t Au. This mineralisation occurs within quartz veining hosted in volcaniclastics, showing similar alteration styles to the central Twin Veins prospect. Additional drill holes also returned lower-grade results across the nearby Douglas Find area, confirming the presence of gold-bearing systems, though researchers noted that these zones differ in thickness and intensity compared to the primary prospect.
Commenting on the exploration progress, leadership emphasised that these findings provide validation for the geological model currently being applied across the broader project area.
"The discovery of a new high-grade zone at Twin Veins East is a great addition to the prospect and highlights the potential of the area. In particular, a strong two metres at 6.73 grams per tonne gold from 39 metres, including a high-grade section of one metre at 13.12 grams per tonne gold, validate our geological model and systematic exploration approach as we test the areas along strike from Twin Veins and further afield to Douglas Find and Razorback."
— Logan Barber, CEO and Executive Director
With phase one drilling concluded, the company is now transitioning its focus to the next stage of exploration. Preparations are underway for a Phase 2 drilling program, which will include maiden testing at the Razorback prospect and follow-up extensional work at both Twin Veins and Douglas Find. Simultaneously, the company is nearing the completion of an EIS-supported induced polarisation survey. This data, alongside recent LiDAR and upcoming HYMAP surveys, will guide future targeting efforts across the wider tenement package.
