High-Grade Drilling Extends Gem at Ravensthorpe
Medallion Metals Limited (ASX: MM8) has reported new drilling results from the Kundip Mining Centre at the Ravensthorpe gold project in Western Australia. The latest campaign, which has already completed 10,870 metres of a planned 15,762-metre program, focused on testing extensional targets to support future mine life. Management believes the results provide increased confidence in the deposit's potential by adding mineralisation near planned underground infrastructure.
The drilling successfully extended the Gem deposit both to the east and at depth. Notable intercepts include 4.92 metres at 16.3 g/t gold equivalent from 394.09 metres, which contained a high-grade interval of 0.3 metres at 210.2 g/t gold equivalent. Another significant result from the program included 3.29 metres at 17.1 g/t gold equivalent. These results are particularly important for the company's early production planning as they confirm mineralisation in areas scheduled for initial development.
"These results continue to reinforce our view that the Kundip Mining Centre has significant long-term growth potential. The latest drilling extends known mineralisation at Gem and provides further support for the interpreted Hillsborough Deeps position, continuing to build our understanding of the broader mineralised system."
— Paul Bennett, Managing Director
While the focus remains on exploration and resource expansion at Kundip, Medallion is managing a busy operational pipeline. The company is simultaneously advancing its Early Production Strategy at the nearby Forrestania Gold Project while continuing preparation for underground mining activities at Ravensthorpe. These parallel workstreams form the core of the company's current development focus as it moves toward production.
Investors should expect further news flow in the coming weeks as assay results for the remaining 5,000 metres of the current drilling program are processed and released. The upcoming work schedule for the team includes targeted follow-up activity to further evaluate the potential of the mineralised system. Specifically, the technical team is preparing to conduct further drill testing of recently identified downhole electromagnetic (DHEM) targets located at the Harbour View deposit. Additionally, they plan to test DHEM conductors situated at the Hillsborough Deeps position, which remains a key area of interest for potential expansion. As the company refines its interpretation of the broader mineralised corridor, these targeted test programs are expected to provide further clarity on the scale and geometry of the system at depth, helping to solidify the mine planning processes currently underway across the project.
